Ashampoo Gadge It allows creating personalized menus and desktop gadgets. Contrary to the common belief that creating this type of objects requires programming knowledge, the tool works as a WYSIWYG editor in which you design the gadget´s interface by drawing elements and assigning functions to them.
The application has a nice interface and a great deal of the work is done with the help of wizards. Four different types of projects, including sidebar gadget, standalone gadget, standalone menu and browser menu, are supported, each of them with its own characteristics and usage. Then, by using the five buttons in the program´s toolbar, you can easily add such elements as interactive buttons, images, text, background pictures and shapes. Besides, you can also incorporate background audio to your project. The buttons, in turn, can trigger such actions as sending emails, playing sounds, opening another page, etc. Luckily, if you don´t trust your design skills, you can start your project from a template and try some of the various themes available.
All in all, Ashampoo Gadge It allows creating nice-looking menus and gadgets without much effort. Unfortunately, this type of widgets is no longer popular or supported by latest Windows versions, which limits the usefulness of the application to some extent.
